I’ve recently come to notice that Nigerians love shawarma die. Seriously! Though I’m so much of a big fan, when I feel like it, I prefer to have it once in a while, especially with a lot of ingredients in it. The more the ingredients, the better it tastes (in my opinion). Shawarma spots are beginning to go viral, especially around Lagos. Some people, I even know make it at home, specially for their family and friends.
Anyways, Lekki is definitely not carrying last on this shawarma frenzy. I’ve spotted 2 more shawarma spots that are pretty new and offer delivery in Lekki Phase 1. They’re easily accessible along Admiralty way:

Shawarma & Fries

Offers beef, chicken & mixed shawarma, along with other side finger foods like turkey and chips. These guys have like the one cheapest shawarma I’ve come across in Lekki (from N700). They are located at No. 1 victoria Ariobeke street, off Admiralty way, Lekki Phase 1.

Sammit Shawarma

Relatively new in Lekki, it launched with *sammit plaza on Admiralty way Lekki phase 1. The shawarma corner spot offers different kinds of shawarmas with refreshments at the court. Delivery is also available in Lekki Phase 1.

Top of the morning to you all. Following the long, eventful weekend, I still did not have time to rest but yet had time to roam around Lekki for new spots for you guys.

On saturday morning I discovered yet another place. This place’s aim is only to satisfy ur early morning crave for the finest and best hot drinks and beverages you can get.. Just imagine being at work and getting hot chocolate :)… It really made me smile, I just had to share.

For so long, i had been looking for a place for my love of Hot chocolate. It was what I used to going to university, every morning I would have hot chocolate.

So I can’t describe the feeling I had when I found this place. The place is called Neo Cafe in Lekki, and they celebrate coffeee heritage with the hot coffee and drinks. It gets better, they do cappuccino as well, all creamy. I am not a coffee drinker but definitely all hail Hot chocolate when creamy and fresh with muffin. My perfect chocolate meal.

Just like your classic cafe they have Espresso, Moca, Latte, Tea. They also have the cold drinks for those who are not big on hot drinks.

There is delivery in Lekki on all orders. They are open from 8am so you can call them to place your order.

Neo cafe is located 31 Victoria Arobieke Street, Off Admralty Lekki.

FYI: The weather has not been so friendly these days, You can do with the hot drinks if you are in Lekki.

Ikota Today – Places in Lekki

Ikota shopping complex since 1997 has been a major landmark in the Lekki/Ajah area. The shopping complex in the past attracted so much attention to the area with 5 different phases, accommodating all kinds of businesses. From fashion stores to Pharmacies, Beauty salons, Banks, grocery stores and many more.

Ikota was the biggest and most well know shopping complex, before the era of the big supermarkets and the palms mall in Lekki. However, in the past few years, I have spoken to shop owners at ikota whom have all complained about the very little traffic at Ikota. They complain that they (shop owners) have to drive traffic and sales outside. They are not generating as much on sales both on merchandise and people awareness, yet the cost of the shops is not declining..

This makes me ask this question, for those of you living in the lekki & Ajah area, “ when last did u go to Ikota? Because I am not sure if the residence goes there, who will?” In 2012, I visited frequently, and I noticed even during those days, you don’t get to see people walking into the stores. Shop owners might as well not open, and I paid a visit this weekend as well. It is dead! It made me think, “how are the shop owners keeping up here?”

What can be done and what is the way out for these guys? The cost of the shops cost as much as you can get in VI or other areas that will drive traffic your way. I think the banks are still able to drive traffic in the area than the businesses are doing.

Is Ikota dying? Well, people in the area go to the banks but asides from that, you don’t see much activity going on there.

Also if you stay in Lekki and have never been to Ikota shopping complex, You should take a trip down soon.

Beauty store Launch in Lekki

One of the biggest brands in Nigeria’s beauty industry made a nice show off as they launched their new beauty studio in Lekki phase 1.

It will come as no surprise to anyone about how Big House of Tara is and how it is continuing to grow. Well I was opportuned to be part of the expansion as they launched their beauty studio at the New centro Mall in Lekki Phase 1.

Now you know what I was up to this weekend. House of tara is starting to become a household name in Nigeria. The brand is really selling well, especially with their make up themes in Nigerians names, so lush… I love their lipsticks. These days make up is starting to grow on me, so just maybe soon my make up collection will soon be floating.

House of Tara had their beauty store launch in Lekki on Sunday, and I was there to mingle with people who came to the event in lekki and also take pictures. Also the event was catered to by one of the popular young chef’s Chef Fregz, Yummy canopies… And one of my favorite yogurt treats by Sweetkiwi..

The great event was held at the pent house of the centro mall. Amazing view, nice music, nice food, great company. While mingling I had time to give you a sneak peak into what you can get at the new house of tara beauty studio in Lekki.

You can get all House of Tara make up from Foundation, to blush, powder, make up kit, lipsticks, lipgloss and many more at the new house of tara studios. They also stock the Maybelline beauty brand as well at the new House of Tara Beauty Studios. Also they will fix you up with a nice makeover, your hair + make up for weddings and other occasions.
